HN: End of property funds’ Golden Era

25 October 2016

The influential Czech economic daily Hospodářské noviny claims that the Golden Era for real estate funds is over. It cites the investment advisory company Chytry Honza František Bostl as saying that such funds tend to produce annual returns of 2 to 4 percent. “At the moment, however, we can expect that for most of them it will be the bottom of the range.” The newspaper warns that high occupancy levels in the office sector have pushed real estate values too high. Investors need to choose funds carefully, the daily reports, because if the real estate bubble bursts, it could send prices tumbling.
