New home permits in Lee county were down 32 percent in April compared to the same month a year ago. Homebuilders pulled permits for 93 single-family homes versus 136 permits in April 2015. Multifamily and commercial construction remained strong in April with total of 28 permits requested in Lee County compared with eight in April 2015. Commercial builders pulled permits valued at $1.7 million in April for general commercial construction in Lee County, down from $1.8 million the year before.
