The average price for new homes in Hungary increased by 7.2 percent in 2017. Prices for resale homes were also up, according to the Central Statistical Office. Based on preliminary numbers, at least 134,200 homes were sold in Hungary in 2017, down from 146,300 in 2016. Of that total, 129,700 homes were resale homes and around 4,500 were new homes. Last year 7,300 homes were built specifically to be sold, according to KSH.
