House sales on the Spanish market increased by 11.1 percent in 2015, according to the National Statistics Institute. This marks the second consecutive year of growth and the best results since 2011. The strong performance was driven by the second-hand housing market. The largest number of home sales per 100,000 inhabitants in 2015 were reported in Valencia and the Balearic Islands. The regions which reported the fewest sales were La Rioja, Castilla y León and Navarra.
