Honkarakenne Oyj sales rose 10 percent over the first half of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017, hitting €19.7m. The log home producer reports however, that its losses ballooned from €100,000 in the January to June period last year to €700,000. It blamed the poor result on increased spending on marketing and sales as well as deliveries that were pushed in to the last quarter of last year. At the end of June the company’s order book was 33 percent higher than a year ago. Marko Saarelainen, President and CEO of Honkarakenne Oyj chose to focus on the positive sales results. “In Finland, net sales saw positive development with year-on-year improvement of 16 per cent.” He warned, however, that sales were going slower than expected in Russia and CIS.
