The new owners of the Hotel Rural Mira Serra in Mangualde, João Oliveira e José Rosário, have reopened the hotel after remodeling work designed to turn it into a tourist landmark in the town that caters as well to health care. “This hotel will have several services in addition to the usual accommodation and catering for tourists, we will create the valence of health tourism facing one tourist who wants to have a longer stay, a nursing perspective, recovery and renewal. We will have medical and nursing follow-up to this kind of stays, physiotherapy and podiatry services,” said João Oliveira. The hotel’s reopening coincides with plans by the Mangualde municipality to bet the town’s future on the tourist industry. Placed in a prime location for the Mondego valley and Serra da Estrela, the 20 room hotel offers view of the area and the surrounding villages. A tennis court and playground have been built outside the hotel.
