The construction cost of housing in Romania has exceeded the threshold of 600 euros / sqm without VAT, says Cristian Erbașu, President of the Employers’ Federation of Construction Companies (FPSC). Prices for construction materials have risen even by 100 percent in the last year, and builders are sounding the alarm and asking the government for measures to continue investment.
As for prices, Erbașu says that they differ from area to area, market, demand and supply and believes that the profit of investors will not be the same. “It is true that investors’ profits will decrease, they will not be 50 percent, it is normal, they will be 20 percent maybe even lower. They will become reasonable profits, but not because apartments will be cheaper, but because costs will increase “, says Erbașu.
