Prices on Romania’s housing market decreased on average by 1.3 percent last year, according to the news server imobiliare.ro. Constanta saw the biggest decrease in 2012, according to the website, with prices falling by as much as 7.6 percent. Prices at the start of 2012 averaged €926 per sqm, but by December, they’d fallen to €856 per sqm.
Prices in Ploiesti fell by 6.3 percent last year. The average asking price in January 2012 was €871 per sqm. By the end of the year, however, prices had fallen to €816 per sqm.
Cluj-Napoca apartment prices were down by 5.5 percent in 2012. In January, the average asking price was €948 per sqm in January. By December, the prices had fallen to €896 per sqm.
Bucharest came in fourth on imobiliare.ro’s list. Prices in the capital averaged €1138 per sqm by the end of December, 3.5 percent less y-o-y.
