Housing prices in Croatia went up by more than 7 percent over the last year with new residential construction increasing by 10 percent, according to local news reports. Growth in Zagreb, meanwhile, hit 11 percent. The average price per sqm in the capital has now exceeded €2,500. But the trend isn’t likely to continue with some real estate agencies calling the €2500 to €3500 per sqm asking prices “unrealistic.” Other market watchers anticipate prices could fall by as much as 20 percent in Zagreb.
