27 August 2014

The German aircraft designer Air Berlin and Howe, an Australian producer of high-end leather car components, plan to add 1,000 new jobs to the Košice labor market. Howe has been based in Košice for 10 years and currently employs 900 people. The company produces luxury leather seats for Land Rover, Audi and BMW. Howe says it wants to hire an additional 600 employees for two new locations it plans to set up in or around Košice by August 2015. The company is considering industrial parks at the Košice airport and Velká Ida.

Air Berlin wants to establish a design center at the Košice airport, which would employ 40 people, and a service center that will need a staff of 400.
