The Taiwanese mobile device maker HTC, which has been making headlines recently because of a court battle with Apple, plans to enter the Polish market with the three of its smartphones. From this foothold in the market, the company intends, eventually, to swell its its market share to 20 percent. For the time being, HTC set itself the goal of capturing 18 percent of the market by selling nearly one million items this year. Its longer-term goal, however, will make it necessary to cooperate with the country’s four major operators, according to HTC’s CEE managing director Paweł Mucha-Orliński. He told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna this will begin with having Play and Orange sell their phones, to be followed in the future by Plus and T-Mobile.
