The current telecommunications frequencies will soon be exhausted. In the face of this situation, it is not known why 5G frequencies are still not allocated, assessed Ryszard Hordyński, the director of strategy and communication of Huawei Polska.
“You can talk about 5G and the next generations for a long time, but, especially in Poland, three things are important. The current frequencies will soon be exhausted, so what is normal today, that we take a smartphone and watch a movie, it may not be possible in a moment, because there will be no radio spectrum. The second thing – the 5G network is characterized by the fact that it is able to connect many devices at once, so in its context we can talk about M2M or the Internet of Things. When I came to Huawei 2 years ago, it was about 1 million Connected devices per km2. Today, there are already 5 million devices in this area. Third thing – indeed 5G will be able to transmit at a much higher speed than before, and it will be a technology that is easy to implement. Just put up a mast. background, what we are missing is a nationwide or government digitization trend. An example is 5G frequencies, which are not allocated, despite a long delay. All our neighbors have already done so. from all of this, we really don’t know what we’re waiting for,” said Hordyński during the Top Industry Summit.
Referring to Industry 4.0, he pointed out that after a period of first choking on the new idea, we entered the phase of its implementation.
“Implementation is often the biggest challenge. From Huawei’s perspective, data is the most important in Industry 4.0. We generate a huge amount of it. In order for it to be transferred and processed, communication, as well as related technologies such as cloud and artificial intelligence, are crucial. Only these technologies are Together, they can result in the successful implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept. There is no turning back from collecting and analyzing data, and this must result in the construction of the entire connectivity ecosystem,” assessed Hordyński.
