HUF 268 bn for upgrading hospitals and clinics

8 January 2013

The National Development Agency announced the Hungarian government earmarked HUF 268bn for the upgrade and expansion of hospitals and clinics around the country. Currently HUF 223bn has already been contracted, while the remaining HUF 45 bn is still open to bids. The agency said HUF 10 bn will be put into oncological centers, while HUF 35 bn will be used to restructure outpatient and hospital care. The agency said most of the funds would be accessible to less developed areas, which means basically every Hungarian region would get some support, with the exception of Budapest and Pest counties.
