HUF 7bn scientific institute complete

A new scientific research center at the University of Pécs has been completed after a HUF 7bn investment that received support from the European Union. The university cooperates actively with businesses and has set its sights upon attaining the prestigious title of ’science university’. The new building has been under construction since 2009, and will be named after János Szentágothai, a famous Hungarian brain researcher. The building will provide work for 200 people and makes possible the establishment of 40 research positions. The majority of its energy needs are met by geothermal and solar energy units.
