Huge differences in residential prices across Russia

The top five most expensive regions for residential real estate in Russia are Moscow (RUB 31,295,492), Moscow Region (RUB 24,197,892) and St. Petersburg (RUB 25,990,421). Included in the top five are Crimea (RUB 29,966,484) and Sevastopol (RUB 11,096,380).

“In the past eighteen months, property prices in the Crimea and Sevastopol have begun to grow explosively, apparently, based on high demand,” says Pavel Lutsenko, CEO of portal World of Flats. On the other end of the scale, the cheapest houses are located in Kurgan (RUB 1,807,981) as well as in the Republic of Tyva (RUB 2,579,772), the Kemerovo region (RUB 2,821,292) and the Trans-Baikal Territory (RUB 2,849,909).

There are vast differences in prices when measured per square meter. Whereas in Yakutia, residential real estate can be had for RUB 69,486 per sqm, a square meter will cost you RUB 63,844 in Sevastopol, which places it in sixth. Moscow is far dearer, coming in at RUB 128 998 RUB per sqm, while it’s RUB 115 691 per sqm in St. Petersburg. Moscow region real estate costs RUB 78,268 per sqm.
