Humanitas Group opened its fourth bookstore in Bucharest on Elizabeth Avenue, near Cismigiu Park. The 270 sqm shop is located on the ground floor of a 100-year-old building that used to house the city’s famous Hotel Cismigiu. This is the company’s 11th bookstore in Romania.
The Spanish development company Hercesa bought the 10,000 sqm building in 2004 and finished restoring it last spring into a mixed used project that includes a four-star hotel with 60 rooms as well as office space on the mezzanine and first floor and retail on the ground floor. There are also 36 underground parking places. The renovation cost €15m.
