Shahin Mustafayev, the Azeri economic development minister, said that political relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary are good and that there is potential for future cooperation. He added that the two countries have already signed 30 documents, which will help develop Azerbaijani-Hungarian economic relations. Mustafayev said that “the government support for businessmen looking to cooperate with Hungarian companies is being guaranteed, and there is the necessary legal framework as well.” Hungarian State Secretary Péter Szijjártó said that Hungary considers Azerbaijan to be a guarantor of European energy security. He expressed Hungary’s interest in implementing the Nabucco gas pipeline project and Azerbaijani gas supplies to central Europe via this route.
