Hungarian GDP to grow by 4.9% in 2019

Hungary’s economy is expected to increase by 4.9 percent this year, according to analysts at Takarekbank, citing strong H1 growth in household consumption and certain business sectors. The bank had earlier forecasted GDP growth would by 4.7 percent for the year. The government, meanwhile, is projecting a more conservative 4 percent growth, with Minister of Finance Mihaly Varga stating that the economy could grow by as much as 4.4 percent this year. Takarekbank is predicting 3.7-percent growth in 2020
