Hungarian home prices slow in Q4 2018

Home prices in Hungary grew by 15.2 percent y-o-y in the last three months of 2018, down from 16.2 percent reported in the previous quarter, according to a report published by the National Bank. Price growth in Budapest fell to 22.9 percent in the fourth quarter from 24.1 percent in Q3, but “remained at a strong level,” the bank said. Home prices around the country, meanwhile, were up on average by 18.2 percent, with prices in the Southern Great Plain region increasing by 21.5 percent and by 12.6 percent in western Hungary.
