The number of housing properties that sold for more than €3,100 per sqm during the first six months of 2019 doubled compared to the same period last year. The majority of these properties are located in Budapest. Fifty percent of the properties that sold on the capital’s Buda side went for more than €2,500 per sqm. The most exclusive and expensive properties are located in the inner Pest districts. Near Lake Balaton, in Balatonfured and Siofok, prices per sqm reached €3,100 and were even higher in Debrecen. More than 1.5 percent of property sales hit the €3100-per-sqm mark, according to Károly Benedikt of the Duna House real estate agency.
