The number of unemployed people in Hungary dropped to 4.9 percent from June to August period, according to Hungary’s Central Statistical Office. In that period, the number of unemployed men decreased to 122,000, and their unemployment rate was 4.9 percent, while the number of unemployed women declined to 105,000 for a rate of 5 percent. However, the average duration of unemployment in the June-August period was 18.6 months, while 49.3 percent of jobless people had been searching for a job for a year or more.
