Hungarian unemployment has fallen for the fourth straight month, according to official statistics. In the three months preceding July, the average percentage of the population out of work was just 10.5 percent, marking a decrease of 0.4 percent from the same period at the end of June. This stumped economists who track unemployment statistics, as they’d anticipated no change in the figure. In absolute terms, the number of people listed as jobless was 458,800. However, the number of unemployed people aged 15 to 24 rose 0.2 percent to 28.1 percent.
