The unemployment rate among Hungarians between 15 and 74 years old fell to 5.5 percent between March and May, according to the Central Statistical Office. The unemployment rate for career-starters between 15 and 24 year olds stood at 13.8 percent, while the unemployment rate for Hungarians between 25 and 54 year olds was 5 percent. The average time spent looking for a job between March and May was 18.2 months. However, 47.5 percent of those who were unemployed had been looking for work for at least a year.
