In an effort to ease the economic fallout from the coronavirus outbreak, small businesses owners in Hungary won’t have to pay monthly taxes until the end of June, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said. This will affect more than 81,000 sole proprietors and businesses that pay the Itemized Tax for Small Businesses (KATA), including hairdressers, cosmeticians, plumbers, gas-fitters, carpenters, sports trainers and home care providers. Back taxes would also be deferred. The latest economic-relief measures come a week after the government placed a moratorium on corporate and retail loans until the end of 2020.
