Hungary’s natural population decrease drop by 16% in 2016

Hungary’s natural population decrease dropped by 16 percent to 33,800 in 2016 compared to the previous year, according to the Central Statistical Office (KSH). The data shows that 93,100 children were born in Hungary in 2016, 1.5 percent more than a year earlier, while the number of deaths was 126,900, down 3.6 percent compared to 2015. For every 1,000 inhabitants, 9.5 live births and 12.9 deaths were recorded, according to the KSH.
