According to the Central Statistical Office, Hungary’s population decline slowed from January to October 2016 compared with the same period in 2015, as the number of births increased and the number of deaths fell significantly. The number of deaths was 103,184 in in the first ten months of the year, dropping by 6.8 percent compared to the January-October period a year earlier, while the number of children born was up by 0.9 percent at 77,356, informed KSH.
