Hungary wants to recover money from offshore accounts and hopes to sign a disclosure agreement with Switzerland by 2015, accounting to János Lázár, head of the prime minister’s office. The economy and foreign ministries were tasked with repatriating HUF 1bn in offshore accounts by persuading Swiss authorities and banks to hand over information related to Hungarian deposits. The Hungarian government has already established a working group to negotiate with Swiss authorities. Lawmakers also plan to discuss this matter with officials in Cyprus and Liechtenstein in the future.
