After contract discussions with the Dutch company Getronics fell through earlier, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has announced that the government will build an e-toll system under its own authority instead of holding another tender. The Dutch company Getronics won the tender to build the e-toll system but decided to pull out after unsuccessful talks on a specific contract. No immediate reason was given for the break down, but Orbán said “the government can solve the problem without help.” The new e-toll system is expected to be operational by July.
