Hungary to invest 7bn in electric vehicle infrastructure

8 September 2015

The Hungarian government will divert HUF 7 bn from carbon credit sales in 2015 to infrastructure development for electric vehicles. National Economy Minister Mihály Varga said the government also plans to begin purchasing electric vehicles for its own use. At the moment, there are 58 electric charging stations in Hungary and the government plans to shorten licensing required to install new ones. The goal is to have the new 150 EV charging stations up and running in a matter of months.
