Hyundai’s automobile plant in the Czech Republic restarted production on Tuesday, the first car manufacturer in the country to do so. The plant will be running on just two shifts for the time being to ensure that operations get off to a smooth start. Members assigned to the night shift will be used to fill in for any colleagues on the first two shifts who turn out to be missing. The company has implemented a series of special security measures, including limiting the number and size of meetings between employees and the installation of mini-boxes where they can eat alone. The factory closed down March 21, meaning that the break in production lasted three weeks. Škoda Auto isn’t expected to bring its workers back to the factories until April 27.
