Hyundai’s automobile plant in Nosovice produced 309,500 cars in 2019, 9 percent less than in 2018 and 2.7 percent lower than the 318,000 it had planned. The dip was caused in part by the ending of production of the ix20 and to what management called changes on certain markets. However, its CZK 7.39bn profit was CZK 170m (2.3 percent) higher than in 2018, despite a 4.7 percent fall in revenues to CZK 123.14bn. The company’s president Donghwan Yang said the Nosovice plant, which is the company’s only one in the European Union, is among the most efficient in the Hyundai group. The plant employs 3,300 people.
