ID Logistics is expanding its cooperation with the E.Leclerc retail chain. At the distribution center in Wola Rakowa near Lodz, the operator has expanded its warehouse space by more than 2.1 thousand square meters, allowing for an increase in volume and expansion of the assortment of goods handled. Another area of joint investment is solutions for sustainable development.
The E.Leclerc distribution center in Wola Rakowa near Łódź, which serves as the retail chain’s central warehouse in Poland, was operationally launched in July 2021. It handles the full range of goods (dry, refrigerated) distributed to E.Leclerc stores throughout Poland, i.e. hypermarkets and supermarkets. The ID Logistics team is responsible for managing warehousing processes, packaging and labeling of imported items, as well as dedicated distribution of goods to points of sale.
The next stage in the development of cooperation between ID Logistics and E.Leclerc is the expansion of the warehouse hall. Upon its completion, the area of the distribution center has expanded by more than 2.1 thousand square meters, and is now 28.110 thousand square meters. The number of loading docks has also increased, from 38 to 50.
– The decision to expand the warehouse space was related to the planned increase in the range of goods handled in the warehouse. Currently we ship 15 thousand pallets, now it can be even three times more,” explains Radoslaw Szymczyk, director of the ID Logistics warehouse in Wola Rakowa.
The larger warehouse space will ensure efficient handling of the growing volume of goods, including the expanded assortment of the chain’s own brands (Leading Brand – foodstuffs, beverages, cosmetics, household chemicals and household accessories) and products imported from France.
At the distribution center in Wola Rakowa, ID Logistics, from the very beginning, implements dedicated and innovative, including proprietary, logistics and IT solutions. Their task is to support the efficiency of warehouse and distribution service and management processes. These include a pallet management system, an automated time recording system, or a monitoring system that is still being developed and adapted to warehouse operations, controlling the fulfillment of orders placed by stores. Work is currently underway to implement the DC DMS delivery avigation system.
