Industrial supply up 64,140 sqm in Budapest

Budapest’s industrial supply grew by 64,140 sqm in the second quarter of this year, according to the Budapest Research Forum. Total stock for the capital and its surroundings totaled around 2.35 million sqm at the end of the three-month period. Completions in Q2 included the latest phase of East Gate Business Park (17,780 sqm), a new building at CTPark South (22,840 sqm), Prologis Harbor DC11 (13,520 sqm) and the next phase of Budapest Dock Szabadkikoto (10,000 sqm). Demand totaled 202,610 sqm, twice as much as in the second quarter of 2019 and 17 percent more than the four-year Q2 average, according to the BRF. New leases made up 45.6 percent of the volume, followed by renewals at 29.2 percent. The two largest leases deals for Q2 included a 28,585 sqm renewal at Batta Park and a 28,460 sqm pre-lease at CTPark Budapest South.
