Inflation down for 7th month in Slovakia

17 July 2015

The EU measure of inflation fell in Slovakia in June, marking the seventh consecutive month in which consumer prices fell. The country’s statistics office revealed on Thursday that the harmonized index of consumer prices dropped 0.1 percent compared to June 2014. They fell in April and May by the same amount. The shift was driven by transport costs, which dropped 5.4 percent, while utilities were 1 percent down. Food, including non-alcoholic beverages rose 0.3 percent in June compared to the year before.
