Michal Szczurek will be the new CEO of ING Bank Romania as of September 2012. He will be replacing Misu Negritoiu, who will become chairman of the Dutch lender.
Szczurek, a Pole, held several management postitions within the insurance and banking arms of ING for almost 20 years. Prior to this appointment in Romania, he headed the retail banking division of TMB Thailand, in which ING has a stake.
He graduated in law and administration from the Warsaw University and holds a master of arts in economics at the Warsaw University/Columbia University.
Negritoiu was appointed general director of ING Bank and CEO Wholesale Banking in 2006 and became CEO of ING Bank Romania in 2010.
