In the first five months of this year, in Romania, were registered 2,470 joint-stock commercial companies with foreign capital. The total value of the invested capital reached RON 5.364bn (€1.227bn), according to the data centralized by the National Statistics Institute.
From 1991 until May 31, 2012, registered in Romania 181,877 joint ventures, with an invested capital of RON 111.715bn (€33.707bn).
Most joint-stock companies with foreign capital were registered, in May, in Bucharest – 167 companies, with a total capital of RON 3.73m, Timis County – 53, with a capital of RON 129,600, Ilfov County – 46, with a capital of RON 1.345m and Bihor County – 32, with a capital of RON 238,900.
In May, no joint venture was registered in Vaslui County, while in the counties of Braila, Ialomita, Teleorman and Tulcea, one company was registered.
Most foreign investors came in Romania, from Italy – 152, Germany – 69, Turkey – 43, Hungary and Spain – 26 each.
