Romanian exports totaled €8.9bn in the first two months of 2016, up 4.1 percent from the same period the previous year, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS). Imports, meanwhile, totaled €9.9bn for January and February, up 8.5 percent from 2015. The trade deficit in the first two months was €993.m, up €428.4m from the same period in 2015.
In February, exports totaled €4.8bn, while imports came in at €5.4bn, resulting in a deficit of €611m. Compared to February 2015, exports increased by 9.5 percent, while imports increased by 13.4 percent.
