Investments fall to CZK 5bn in Prague’s 2015 budget

20 February 2015

Prague’s city assembly has finally passed its budget for 2015 after a marathon session on Thursday. In all, the city will have CZK 56.3bn (€2bn) in expenses, with revenues of just CZK 42.1bn. The difference is to be made up by the state. Deputy mayor Eva Kislingerová claims “the budget for 2015 was made very conservatively” and says that it will have CZK 11.2bn available for investments. Roughly CZK 5bn will go towards transportation investments, down from CZK 6.7bn in 2014, to pay for the Blanka tunnel and the repair of two bridges. An additional CZK 625m will be spent on buying land needed for the D line metro.
