Already on Friday, January 14, 2022, interested investors have an exceptional opportunity to see the building of the unique Ostrava Skyscraper. In December 2021, the city council decided to launch a public tender called “Ostrava Skyscraper.” The intention of the statutory city of Ostrava is to reconstruct the tower building in an attractive location in the city center studies by Eva JiÅiÄnĆ” and Petr VĆ”gner. The project also includes the strengthening of parking capacities in the form of the construction of a parking house in close proximity to the apartment building for its inhabitants and the public. Ostrava is interested in implementing the construction in cooperation with the private sector.
In addition to the tender documentation itself, thanks to the inspection of the building, potential investors will be able to get acquainted with the specifics of the building and take these facts into account in the submitted offers.
The tour will be attended by representatives of selected departments of the City of Ostrava, competent to answer any questions from participants. The tour will take place on January 14, 2022 at 10 a.m., and will begin at the main entrance to Building No. 2691 at 269/4 OstrÄilova Street in Ostrava. If the date does not suit the interested parties, investors may request another date in the manner specified in the tender conditions.
The city will be interested in the project even after the construction, actively as the owner of 15 of the total expected number of 70 to 85 apartments, and a significant share of the parking house. The investor will lead the design part of the entire project, he will be the one who will prepare the reconstruction of the building and the construction of the parking house according to his ideas and requirements and will subsequently carry out the documentation. The basis for the design for the investor will be documents prepared by the AI āāDesign studio, which will be binding in parts of the main architectural elements of the building and parking house design, which characterize the work and preserve the authorship of Eva JiÅiÄnĆ” and Petr VĆ”gner.
The investor will also be bound by the design standards defining in more detail the apartments acquired by the city and the parking house, which will guarantee a precisely determined future subject of the transfer (both for the contract and in the first phase for creating a price offer by suppliers). Other documents are only supporting, they develop possible construction solutions, which the investor may or may not adhere to in the design.
The deadline for submission of bids is set for March 31, 2022 at 10 am.
The comprehensive design of the reconstruction of the building was prepared by the renowned Czech studio AI – DESIGN of the world-famous architect Eva JiÅiÄnĆ” and the architect Petr VĆ”gner. Their realizations include, among others, the first design hotel in Central and Eastern Europe, Hotel Josef in Prague, a new orangery at Prague Castle, the reconstruction of St. Anne’s Church in Prague by the VIZE 97 Dagmar and VĆ”clav Havel Foundation, the Sky Barrandov apartment complex, the ZlĆn Congress Center and many others. The studio has received many awards abroad and in our country, including the Grand Prix of the Community of Architects.
