Irish architecture firm RKD is opening an office in Krakow, and wants to hire about 50 people.

“Following a restructuring and ownership transition, we are on track to achieve a turnover of €50 million by the end of 2023. We have experienced 20% year-on-year growth over the last 2 years, with 40-50% of our business taking place outside of Ireland. We have ambitious growth plans and Poland with its economic potential fits perfectly into these plans, hence the decision to invest in the Polish office of RKD. We plan to build a team of up to 50 people in Poland,” said the company’s managing director David Petherbridge.

RKD’s flagship projects include Microsoft Place (Microsoft EMEA headquarters) in Dublin, Ireland, Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

“RKD is one of more than 70 companies operating in the area of so-called high-tech construction, this Irish cluster has excelled in international markets, including in the area of data centers. Many Irish companies are building hyperscale data centers for major international technology players. In Poland, according to Audytel’s analysis, data center space is expected to grow from 122,000 sqm in 2023 to 176,000 sqm in 2028, and as a result we are seeing increasing interest in this sector from Irish companies. It is worth noting that, according to our latest estimates, a record will be set this year in terms of the value of trade between Poland and Ireland,” said Senior Market Advisor at Enterprise Ireland’s Warsaw office Bartosz Siepracki.
