J&T is planning to build a seven-story office building with ground-floor retail at the end of Pařížská street next to the InterContinental Hotel and the Vltava riverbank. The developer has owned the plot in the middle of nám. Curiových since 2013 but was unable to build on it, as it was defined as a public square in the master plan. The daily Právo recently wrote that the Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) now wants to change it into a construction site in the new Metropolitan Plan it has been preparing for Prague, arguing that there were buildings on the site historically. The change would increase the value of the site, writes Právo, which estimates the project is worth more than CZK 1bn.
