J&T in cooperation with Russian partners is refurbishing the Danube hotel in Bratislava. The original plan was to tear down the loss-making hotel, which not even Greek hotel operator Eric Assimakopoulos was able to improve, and build a business center with office, retail and flats called Bratislava River Center.
The city, however, forced the developer to rethink its plans. The newly established joint venture Omega Investments will rebuild the complex into a mixed use project that will include a four-star hotel with 100 beds alongside 12,000 sqm of office and 4,200 sqm of retail. The refurbished Danube should open in the second half of 2017.
