J&T reveals new concept for United Bratislava

9 August 2017

J&T Real Estate (JTRE) unveiled its plans for the new Bratislava city center, which will stretch along both sides of the Danube River. The plans, aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the Slovak capital, include more than 5 km of new tram tracks, a pedestrian bridge across the Danube, a congress center, approximately 4,200 flats and 250,000 sqm of office space, as well as new sportsgrounds, parks and green areas. The infrastructure investment is expected to reach €74m. The developer presented plans for the next five to 10 years and applied for a statute of significant investment award, which it believes could ease the realization process. J&T already has several projects on the left bank of the river, including Eurovea, River Park, Zuckermandel and Stare Město and is currently working on plans for the Nove Lido development zone on the right bank together with HB Reavis. Peter Korbačka of JTRE says that the development will connect the largest Bratislava neighborhood, Petržalka, isolated on the right bank, to the city center.
