Jaguar Land Rover chooses Kraków for new factory

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is planning to launch a new factory in the Polish city of Kraków, claims the British Sunday Times, in an investment worth as much as GBP 1.2Bbn. The owner of JLP, the Indian concern Tata, was also known to be considering Turkey, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The new factory is expected to produce 200,000 vehicles a year. JLR is expected to announce its final decision in the next few weeks.

Having produced 450,000 vehicles last year, Jaguar is planning to expand its production to 1 million. The company built a factory in China last year, and has plans to add another three in Brazil, the US and Mexico.
