Jaguar plans trigger residential boom in Nitra

3 June 2016

Jaguar Land Rover plans to build a new automobile plant in Nitra triggered a residential development rush in the Slovak city. Both private investors and city officials are planning to build flats in Nitra. Increased demand is pushing prices up – flats are selling for €10,000 to €15,000 more than they were prior to Jaguar’s announcement. Nitra Invest has come up with a plan to build 200 to 230 flats on a 1.3 hectare site it owns in Brezový háj in Nitra. Ondrej Ščurka, CEO of Nitra Invest told trend.sk that a majority of the flats will have two to three rooms. The developer also plans to create space for a private kindergarten. Ščurka hopes work will get underway by the end of the year, and that the flats will be ready to be moved into a year after that. For its part, the city of Nitra plans to offer 96 rental flats in a project that will require just an update to its existing construction permit to allow work to begin.
