Nearly 2/3 (64%) of office workers in Poland work weekly in the office up to two days, according to JLL research. At the same time, 55% of respondents believe that the office is an indispensable element building the company’s culture, and over 60% declare that the most important element of the office of life is the opportunity to meet live with colleagues and the social aspect.
“Most employees in Poland prefer hybrid work, of which 50% of people express their preference for work in the office one day or less, and another 16% would like to perform their duties stationary two days a week. Thus, the office function of the office is also changing, when asked by us employees indicated that in the office they are looking for opportunities to meet with colleagues, often also indicate a strictly social aspect,” said Jakub Zieliński, head of Workplace Strategy & Change Management.
According to a JLL survey, only 25% of employers require their teams to attend the office 2 or 3 days a week. 20% of the surveyed employees indicated that they have full flexibility in choosing a workplace.
The level of return of Poles to stationary work illustrates the RTO ratio comparing the times before the pandemic and the current state. Workers in the construction and real estate sector (7%) and public sector employees (71%). In turn, the industry that did not return to offices after the pandemic is the so-called shared service centers (21%). Another sector that has returned to offices to some extent is the banking sector (37%), JLL reported.
“In accordance with our observations of the hybrid work model at the desk, we spend an average of 1 to 3 hours (this is also correlated with how often we work stationary), so in offices there must be spaces for cooperation that meet the specific needs of the organization. Currently, employees are more willing to return to the office in the event that their office is functional enough that it helps them in their daily work, does not limit them and does not cause additional problems in everyday work,” added Zieliński.
