With 526,000 sqm of stock, TriCity is now the third largest office market in Poland behind Kraków and WrocÅaw, according to JLL. A number of global companies have recently launched SSC operations in the area. In addition to State Street, which launched its BPO operations in GdaÅsk last month, a Wall Street Journal story hints that Deutsche Bank and Toshiba could soon open offices in the same city. The newspaper says the openings could add up to 5,000 new jobs to the local labor market over the next two years. Jacek Levernes, president of the Association of Business Service Leaders, points out that while itās already seen as one of the countryās top outsourcing and offshoring destinations, GdaÅsk is in fact witnessing āa sudden boom in new investments.ā
During the first six months of the year, more than 53,000 sqm of office space was leased in the TriCity area, which hasnāt seen this kind of boom in nearly a decade. Most of the tenants reported significant growth during the period, with some undergoing mergers and takeovers and are now in need of bigger space.
