Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers has announced the appointment of Joham Tavera as Vice President of Alternative Investments. Based in the San Francisco Bay area, Tavera will be responsible for the origination of new structured commercial real estate investments, including mezzanine loans, preferred equity, bridge loans and B-notes, primarily in the Western region of the U.S. He joins Cornerstone from ACORE Capital, and has worked at BlackRock as Director of Alternatives, Real Estate Debt, and at Bank of America, where he held the role of Vice President in the Commercial Real Estate Group. Tavera earned an MBA in Finance with an emphasis in International Business from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California – Berkeley.
