The American car parts supplier Johnson Controls will invest around €18.3m in a new production of car seat covers and upholstery factory in Strumica. An investment agreement was signed this week between the Johnson Controls Global Director Willy Van Looy and Viktor Mizo, the CEO of the Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones.
This is the second factory built by the American company in Macedonia, encouraged by the success of its factory in Stip over the last two years, said Peter Heift, group vice president and general manager Trim at Johnson Controls Automotive Seating. He also praised the Macedonian government for its approach to investors. “The opening of a new plant is a significant step. It is not only an USD 20 million investment, but also an opportunity for new jobs, which along with those in Stip will reach 3,000,” said Heift.
