JRD Group, which specializes in sustainable development, green energy and ESG investments, established the Endowment Fund for Sustainable Life under the auspices of the independent VIA Foundation. It is now starting to support the first three projects, which will contribute to improving the state of the landscape and developing local biodiversity. The JRD group plans to double the total amount that the public will be able to contribute to each of them. In addition, on October 19, JRD Group employees will personally participate in the activities of the “Natura, quo vadis” project, founded by the Czech Union of Nature Protectors, which takes care of nature in Prague 10. They will help the local branch of this organization with the cleaning and replacement of birdhouses. , monitoring and GPS recording of their location, as well as cleaning the surrounding greenery.
The Endowment Fund for Sustainable Life was created under the independent VIA Foundation, which develops community life and philanthropy by supporting activities that improve life in selected localities. Currently, it is launching support for the first three projects, the founders of which are Čmelák – Society of Friends of Nature, the general benefit society Česká krajina and the largest non-governmental non-profit organization the Czech Union of Nature Protectors – the organization Natura, quo vadis? The individual projects have different goals, but all are intended to contribute to greater nature protection and a more sustainable environment: they include the restoration of sites in the landscape and the creation of new places for nature – ponds, draws, flowery meadows or more colorful forests, the cleaning of a nature reserve for wild horses in the former Milovice military area or building new birdhouses and feeders for squirrels with their subsequent maintenance.
“Ever since 2003 (that is, when JRD Development was founded as our first division), we have been trying to contribute to making life more pleasant for residents in the locations where we build our environmentally friendly projects. That is why we also deal with environmental protection and various charitable activities (from ecological projects to the support of community life and cultural and sports events to humanitarian aid) in other divisions that fall under the JRD Group. We established the Endowment Fund for Sustainable Life in order to unite these activities under one brand and speed up and make their organization more efficient. At the same time, we have created a system from our donor activities that those interested in supporting this type of project can turn to with confidence,” says JRD owner and founder Jan Řežáb.
The first three projects supported by the Endowment Fund for Sustainable Living:
The Čmelák association establishes the Coalition for the Landscape:
The goal of the Landscape Coalition is to motivate farmers to return 10% of their agricultural land back to nature. This would bring back flowering plants and animals to today’s landscape of huge rows of fields, water retention would be better and nature trips would be more pleasant.
The company Česká krajina is building a wild horse reserve:
Thanks to the wild horses that live in the former military area of Milovice, natural natural processes have been restored here. Rare flowers, dozens of species of butterflies, birds and beetles thrive in the locality. Thanks to the return of ungulates, nature received the necessary impetus to start healing itself.
Organization Natura, quo vadis? takes care of nature in Prague 10:
The local branch of the Czech Union of Conservationists plans to place 10 new birdhouses and feeders for squirrels in Prague 10, which it will take care of in the long term.
